Sometimes I  base my joy on what tomorrow holds or
my dreams for the future that might spice things up a bit.

" Happiness is not based on whats around us
it's something we make inside of us."

The routine of everyday life may seem boring and after a while it all becomes a chore.
And we see no cause for rejoicing in what today holds

You may be facing a crisis or loss or something in your life
is going terribly wrong. But in spit of all that is going on in
our lives we can have true joy if we are in Christ.

This is the day that the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118: 24

Today is the day for joy not tomorrow.

Dreams Must Die

I have dreams… doesn’t every one?  I remember when I was 15 I sat down one day and wrote all that I wished to someday come true. Then I tore the paper in tiny bits and told the Lord I wanted to replace all that I had written for His will to be accomplished in my life.  I don’t ever want to be outside His will, for “being in the center of His will is the happiest place for a Christian to be.”

I still surrender daily my dreams and desires to the Lord, because surrender is not a one-time thing. Surrender is a daily part of the Christian life. The Lord is jealous for us with a godly jealously. He wants first place in every area of our lives including our dreams.

When we are focused on Jesus Christ surrender becomes an act of pure joy. Would an oak seed ever have thought that it would become the beautiful tree it is today if death was not required? It had to be buried under the dirt until it matured and grew, and it was not until then that everybody remembered that seed from long ago.

We often ask ourselves, “What is my purpose in life?” Here is the answer; it has never been so clear to me. “Jesus will place you in your purpose when you purpose to place Him above everything else.” He has us here for Himself our lives are not our own.

True Beauty

" If a soul has any beauty, it is
because Christ has endowed that
soul with His own, for in ourselves we are deformed and defiled! There is no beauty in any of us but what our Lord has worked in us."
Charles Spurgeon

I am my beloved's and his desire is towards me. Song of Solomon 7:10

This has become one of my favorite verses in the Bible over the past few months. The thought has never hit me so hard. I am a bride, and His desire is towards me. I want to fall in love with my Lord more everyday.

I have the above verse written down and I stuck it on our bedroom mirror as a reminder.  I often ask myself "how am I responding to Christ as His bride?

Girls the Lord has taken us in and has loved us even in our sin. He calls us to live a set-apart life from this world unto Himself. He doesn't need us. He wants us and desires us for Himself! I stand amazed that the Almighty, Powerful God wants a close relationship with us. We are truly loved and blessed beyond measure.

Satan wants us to think that we are worthless and not worth getting to know. Well I sure have news for him... Isaiah 43:4 says "Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee..." The meaning of the word precious is great worth, highly valued. Wow that kinda brings tears to my eyes.

"My beloved is mine, and I am his..."  Song of Solomon 2:16
